How to approach the funding route

Country fund allocation strategies and OCHA grant management processes.

Who may be able to access funding

Eligible NGOs, UN agencies and Red Cross/Red Crescent organisations can receive CBPF grants, subject to country-fund assessment and allocation rules.

Strategic implications for project development

  • Map the country allocation priorities and cluster coordination to the organisation’s actual operational presence.
  • Allow time for country-specific due diligence and capacity assessment; explore eligible sub-partnerships where direct access is unavailable.
  • CERF is separate: NGOs cannot apply directly, but may implement through an eligible UN agency or IOM.

Compliance questions for the specific call

  • Check fund eligibility and risk assessment requirements.
  • Verify allocation-specific budgets, monitoring and sub-grant terms.

These are editorial decision points grounded in the sources below. The current notice, allocation documents and applicable agreement determine the requirements.

Next level of analysis

A donor brief provides context. The planned call analysis will examine the complete opportunity package; the planned proposal evaluation will map a proposal to that call’s requirements and assessment criteria.
